As we gather this Sunday, we reflect on the significance of the gifts
brought to baby Jesus. Isaiah prophesied about the coming of the light
and the Glory of the Lord rising upon us. These precious gifts of gold,
frankincense, and myrrh offered by the Magi symbolize more than just
their value. Gold represents Jesus’ kingship, frankincense His di
vine nature, and myrrh, a foretelling of His sacrifice. In this
season of giving, let us be reminded that our greatest gift is the Light of
Christ.
Let His light shine through us in our acts of love, kindness, and
generosity. As we present our own gifts this Christmas, may they be a
reflection of our gratitude and worship to our Savior, Jesus Christ.
