The month theme is the potter working on us through the acts of the Holy sport is the month when we celebrate the outpouring of the holy spirit in Acts 2:1-4 The desire of our flesh is in direct contrast with the will of God in our lives. Being led by the Holy Spirit is central to the Christian life, guiding believers toward holiness and transformation. In the New Testament, the phrase “led by the Spirit emphasizes victory over sin and the law through the Spirit’s empowerment. Walking by the Spirit means living in daily submission to His guidance, in contrast to following the flesh, which leads to sin.
In Galatians 5:16-25, Paul contrasts the works of the flesh with the fruit of the Spirit. The flesh produces self-centred behaviours such as sexual immorality, idolatry, and anger, while the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These traits reflect the character of Jesus and are cultivated through ongoing surrender to the Spirit’s work in our lives.
To cultivate the fruit of the Spirit, believers must crucify the flesh, turning from sin and yielding to God’s will. This is an act of the will-choosing to say yes to the Spirit and no to sinful desires. Transformation happens as we surrender, immerse ourselves in Scripture, and seek the Spirit’s help in daily obedience. The result is a life that reflects Jesus’ character, growing in holiness and glorifying God. Though the process is challenging and lifelong, the rewards far outweigh the struggles, leading to deeper fellowship with God and a life marked by His fruit.
